Getting Started

Learn how balances work in Wick, where prediction funds are held, and how users move USDC from trading into prediction markets.

How Balances Work

At its core, Wick is a wallet for Hyperliquid, after funding your Trade balance, users can optionally transfer USDC into their Predict balance to trade prediction markets. See Funding Your Prediction Account for a step by step guide

Trade Balance

Your Trade Balance is your main account in Wick.

  • Used for spot trading, perpetuals, and HIP-3 markets

  • Lives on Hyperliquid Core

  • This is where funds arrive when you deposit via Unit or on-chain transfers

  • Funds are denominated in USDC

Predict Balance

Your Predict Balance is used exclusively for prediction markets.

  • Used for sports predictions powered by Polymarket

  • Lives on Polygon

  • Operates as a separate balance optimized for prediction markets

Moving Funds to Prediction Markets

When you want to place a sports prediction, Wick lets you move USDC from your Trade Balance to your Predict Balance directly inside the app.

  • Transfers are handled entirely by Wick

  • No external bridges or wallets required

  • Funds typically arrive in under 15 seconds

This works like a simple deposit and withdrawal flow: you move funds into prediction markets when you want to predict, and move them back when you’re done.

Why Wick Uses This Structure

Trading and prediction markets have different performance and infrastructure requirements. By separating balances:

  • Trading remains fast and low-latency on Hyperliquid

  • Prediction trading remains fast and low-latency on Polygon

  • Users get the best execution environment for each product
